Ethics
at the Heart
of Technology, Innovation, and Design

I'm Johann Roduit, a bioethics expert turned innovation strategist. I use ethical thinking to shape the future. As a founding partner at Conexkt, a certified B Corp innovation studio, I work to weave ethics into the heart of technological innovation and design. I aim to help clients imagine new futures and create positive community impacts.

In my previous life, I delved deep into academia, developing a comprehensive understanding of human enhancement ethics and transhumanism. Now, I apply this knowledge in the practical world of innovation and technology. The question that drives me is what it means to be human in a world that is constantly evolving due to technology.

Beyond the boardroom, I have a passion for science communication. I co-founded neurhone, an organization that inspires the public through events like TEDxMartigny and the Carnotzets Scientifiques. Currently, I'm also involved in several SciComm projects, including TEDxAbbotsford.

As a regular columnist, I enjoy sharing my thoughts with a wider audience. I invite you to join me in shaping a more ethical and innovative future!

Can new technology bring hope to children who have drug-resistant epilepsy?

This mini-documentary is a story about hope for children and their families in mitigating and treating pediatric drug resistant epilepsy (DRE). It is a story about how families learn to trust their medical team, educate them, and help them consider neurotechnology options for their child. It is a story about empowerment as loved ones shed light on the ethical factors that led to their decisions. In doing so, they empower other families that face similar challenges to theirs.

It is a story of how children and families affected by DRE can seize hope in times of darkness for a better quality of life.
